Re: '82 343 DLS saved from scrap, now with MOT :-)

GR8 NUMBERPL8.

There's a surprising amount of chrome on this car; it's just the front that's purely pov spec!

Re: What made you get into Volvos?

I always fancied myself some shite, had a Ford Sierra (pov spec pre 87 model with the grille) and a Citroen BX in mind, but in the end settled for the 340. Because I had to do lots of motorway in it, I ignored the variomatics and found, at long last, a green GL Special with a 5 speed. It was a sorry...

Not much better in The United Kingdom of the Netherlands Land.

YES THAT'S A 20 MPH ZONE IN A RURAL AREA.

MOAR examples.

Speed limit: 75. CLICK

Speed limit: 60. CLICK. Yes, that's a FIVE lane motorway. It was even reduced to 55 at the time Google took this shot.

Re: And so it goes on...

Well since an Aveo is sort of a modern day Samara, why not replace it with the real stuff?

Lada sold by the boatloads in both the UK and the Netherlands, yet there are hardly any left. Just those later 110 series and three-door Samaras, the rest have all been shipped back to their homeland...

Re: Whats wrong with me!? (Contains Whinge)

For the ultimate French touch, try some La Poste stickers and remove the rear seats. However, I forgot: the French touch would require this car to be a diesel. And it'd need an ashtray full of spent Gauloises

Re: Whats wrong with me!? (Contains Whinge)

Seriously. Every car I touch turns to Turd these days. Also called the "Reverse King Midas Touch". You have all right to moan about it and I do sincerely hope that one day, you'll find that car that doesn't let you down. I guess it's a safe bet that particular car won't be a Peugeot, a Ford or a Va...

Re: Drifting isn't destroying our community you morons

As much as I agree with Ian on the subject of being a cock on the road or not, I'd like to get back OT by saying that the tramp drifters can actually have a positive effect on the Volvo 300 series as a whole, even if lots of cars get smashed by their hands. Of course, if lives are lost in the proces...

The clutch plate for the CVT is different.

Re your other question: I only dare to take a guess so I'd rather let the specialists have their say on the matter 8)

Thumbs up for keeping it rolling! Love the fact that the old DIN-style plates are still allowed.

Re: snow FAIL!

I used to think the whole winter tyre thing was a tyre-company myth, but since I've been using them the last 3 winters I wouldn't want to miss them. They're a bit softer, so supposedly they grip better at temperatures under +7°C, but most importantly they're great on snow. The profile is a lot diff...

Re: Climate taxes

I lol'd. However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a...

Re: spotted a 300 in this vid

The 5th gear test and above youtube video are rather unfair. No, it's life, where we normally don't choose the opponent in a car crash - or do we? Actually, I find 5th Gear's crash videos give a lot of insight into car safety, beyond what we are fed through EuroNCAP, the manufacturers and ou...
