Re: Future Black Boxes for Cars

This is how things creep up on us. The younger ones accept what they find when they arrive at a situation, the middle aged begin to realise that they are being ripped off after a few decades and the older ones know this but that it's too late to change things! A good exapmle of this is the contstant...

Re: Future Black Boxes for Cars

A camera is useful to determine blame after an accident. I use one in the transit, yes they are very useful, I had a woman drive into the side of my transit a few months ago. Very low speed incident and she only bounced off my rear wheel but she tried to blame me for the damage to her bumper. Foota...

Future Black Boxes for Cars

I was talking to one of our neighbours tonight, they have a new car (mini). Apparently new cars come with a sting in the tail. In the handbook there is a warning that the car records information about your driving which might be used in evidence against you (maybe after an accident for example I ass...

Re: '85 360 GLS

That looks tidy! I'd expect the fuel sender/filter area to be badly corroded and the filter full of crap. I had intermittant fuel blockages that I think were caused by that.

Re: 1977 343

That paint blistering looks just like what I've seen, maybe the effect of a car cover but then again Rachel's car had exactly the same without a cover. I'd say it's the paint job at fault, maybe it's where the paint has not bonded with the panel and expansion of air (or some form of gas?) has lifted...

Re: 340 1.4 auto conversion to a 2.0 360 manual project..hel

As you've already started, it's probably not a good time to say that if you were going there, I wouldn't start from here.....but I'm doing a similar conversion  My only excuse is that I want a Mk1 with the B230 engine, and finding a Mk1 2litre in the UK is not going to happen, so I've got a 198...

Re: Quattroruote October 1976

I found that front cover on the web a while ago, looks like they are white, they must be the Holy Grail for Mk1 owners!!!

Nice to see the rest of the article.

Re: 1977 343

I've had two problems with those raised spots of paint, first the GL got some (very minor though) on the bonnet. They appeared to be along the line of a very and I mean VERY light surface scratch in the paint. I blamed the car cover as they appeared after a spell of freezing weather with snow then a...

It's 5 years since I got the Mk1, so 2 years isn't too bad!

Started dismantling over a year ago, must get on with it this year!

Hi, I have a similar 360 in green, the GLS is 92hp and the GLT is 111hp. That must be a rare car in your country!

Re: Problems Logging On V3M

It sometime rejects my log in on the first attempt, my computer remembers my name/password so it can't be wrong anyway. I then have to try again before it gives me chance to put in the code, which I have meanwhile copied, ready to paste in. If a device can stay logged in then that's handy as it remo...
