Sorry to hear about your circumstances. Given a low lying sun, cloud and shade, and the fact you're using a zoom lens I'd be very surprised if anything greater than 1/200th actually came out at all. I'd be looking at 1/60th- 1/100th in those conditions, particularly if you can't get an F stop below ...

One of the things that amazes me about the MOT test is that you could, in theory, present a car with one loosely tightened wheel nut per wheel and still have it pass because the wheel nuts are hidden by a wheel trim which the tester is not allowed to remove.

When I lived in Eire and imported my 360GLS I got a 'county' plate (84-W-346), not an old style one. This was back in 1997, but I can't imagine they've changed the system since then.

Well I've just come back from a 2431 mile trip to the top of Denmark and didnt see one either.

Unscrew black knurled knob on top of the carb and remove the dipstick. If the oil level isn't as it should be add a few drops of ATF down the tube and check again. If the oil keeps disappearing then the diaphragm is split.

The heavy flywheel makes it slow to rev up, but makes for a torquey relaxing drive.

Hesitation is most probably low dashpot oil or a split diaphragm in the carb.

So all the waffle about "yes, we'll be able to source the original specifications and supply you with some matching ones" was just that; waffle?
