Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Always something else to fix lol !! I thought you had sorted the gear lever earlier with the weld repairs at the torque tube ? (sounds a bugger of a job). Thats my 360 laid up now. Rightly or wrongly I brimmed the tank and added 'Stabil' fuel stabiliser and allowed the engine to run for 10 - 15 mins...

Re: 1.7 vapour separator hose routing.

Just catching up, dunno where the time goes !! Thanks for the tip on Rectorseal, will check that out. Door seals - The previous owner of my 360 had fitted new door seals, not sure where from (maybe Classic Swede?) anyway they seem to work well. Requires a good positive push to close the door, and a ...

Re: 1.7 vapour separator hose routing.

Great work Jon, its good to see 'how to' guides like this. Not heard of Rectorseal, tried to google it but came up with different numbers of the stuff.... Is it like silicone grease ? You are right about the switch frame, mine was broken before I got the car but I have a replacement to try and swap ...

Re: VOC / V3M at Black Country Living Museum - 3rd October 2021

Sounds an excellent day out. Sadly I won't be attending but perhaps another meet in the future with the 360, it would be nice to catch up with some of you from the forum. Tax runs out at the end of the month and SORN is imminent till next spring.... Also still a fair few jobs to be done before I wou...

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

I am trying to avoid E10 where possible, and certainly for the 360, only premium VPower or the likes. Looking at some sort of fuel treatment for normal use and over the winter the tank will be brimmed and treated with Stabil, or similar. Aside from concerns over fuel hoses I don't think E10 will do ...

Re: 1.7 vapour separator hose routing.

Very true !! Sadly these days modern 'stuff' ain't designed to be easily repairable or in some cases they are repairable but designed with a very limited lifespan to keep inital costs down, but then hook you in to pricey parts etc... At 3 years old my Skoda Superb required a full new clutch/slave cy...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Thanks Jon, stopping was hopefully sorted with the brake tinkering last year ! Running fine so far... I will do a write up on the pump and filter replacement soonish (winter job) but meantime a couple of preview pics of the job... "New Bosch pump has ring connectors rather than sockets so rath...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Well we are back up and running... Various checks, reseating fuses, relays etc...suddenly re-starting which is good but slightly annoying as not 100% sure the issue. However in my checks I ran the pump again for a good few minutes and there was a lot of air rattling around which eventually disappear...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Thanks Jon, yes I believe there is an ECU located under the dashboard somewhere. It is the brain for the Bosch LE Jetronic system. I was surprised too when I first read about it, but it makes sense. Something has to compute the various sensor inputs coming into the system. The graphic in the link be...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Hi Jon, Just catching up here... Yes the relays should be ok, I have got two and both were working before. The fuse box did come to mind and I will definitely do some checks, seems to be the achillies heel with that one terminal getting burnt but I will need to do some further checks before starting...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Hi Steve, Yes I will try and write something up as a bit of a guide, took a load of pics. All credit to Foggy who provided a real top tip on a pre-filter replacement which has worked out well. I will probably do a thread on it when I get my pics uploaded to Flickr, maybe be a week or two but will le...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Thanks Jon, I thought about string/tape combo but decided just to leave well alone at the moment. The hoses are in decent condition albeit original, so I will save that joy for another day. Got the pump install finished today, seems to be working well with the new filter arrangement. Will see if she...

Re: Fuel Hose Specs - Modern Fuels

Bit of an update..... I'm half way through replacing the fuel pump and pre-filter and associated hoses. Not a great job draining 30+ litres of fuel safely...! I will report back when complete, had some really useful info from foggy on filter options and wiring adaption to the new pump, much apprecia...
