Re: Fail car

I did check points and ignition today, it appears that I had adjusted them spot on by the ear yesterday, not too bad, eh? Today proceeded to check carb settings, I found out that idle speed adjustment had been screwed fully in, so that is lowest possible idle speed and still it was running bit too f...

800N clamping force on late Vario is a bit of challenge to overcome. :?

Re: Fail car

I believe that heater fan not working at 2 and 3 settings is because of switch failure, but I can't be certain yet, need to take apart center console to make enough space to reach to switch I believe. It is probably similar construction as light switch, maybe good cleaning would do the trick. When I...

Don't mind me, just being grumpier than usual  Contact Steve Bidwell of the DAF Owners' Club if you want a formal price for their belts / shipping. Email on this page: http://www.dafownersclub.co.uk/ I'll leave it to others to suggest how to get the secondary pulleys parted without the special...

Re: Adventures of the volvo kind..

my pc has no internet. I think that your phone might be able to share internet to your pc too, but it might need some sorcery and wizards, pc would then need walls and fences as well as bug patrols, but still might be doable without too much of hazzle, however you would need some lad with bottle bo...

Re: Adventures of the volvo kind..

thanks jtbo, that's exactly what I wanted. This chocolate cellphone can't open a big pic without pretty much reprogramming it, which is a nice challenge. Cant upload pics of my 'bran spanking old' carb and manifold either :( I can take part of pic and enlarge that one section if you need, also here...

Re: Adventures of the volvo kind..

Has anyone got a manual to the weber 32 dir, I know something is wrong with it still but I can't figure it out, an exploded diagram would do.. Thing is the throttle isn't closing totally, I can push the throttle to close it manually, then it idles, but as soon as I've pressed and released the accel...

Re: Fail car

Rear light issue is the earth bar in the cluster. The earth for the combined stop/tail light bulb isn't working and its finding its ground through the other bulb.Just give the contact a good clean and all should be well. The other stuff i'm not sure. When the resistor pack fails, usually all speeds...

Re: Best place for parts

Is your Halfords any use? We have Biltema and Motonet which are bit similar, altough Motonet has always been more of car parts store than anything else, but they have ventured to selling everything kind of shop during the years. Motonet has most 300 series parts, here is parts listing that I took fo...

Re: Adventures of the volvo kind..

I get the gaskets tomorrow(today), lucky since it sounds like a hellcat tank race atm.... also have an excess of sheets of carb gasket, with me needing only half a sheet per lifetime so far: Does anyone need some free carb-gasketage? No need for sheet at the moment :P Your pace of repairs is great ...

Re: Fail car

I did do some work with car and now low beam and high beam works, but there is some odd error someplace. Rear right cluster, there is two red lights lit when switch is at position 0, 1 or 2, but right most red light is not quite ok, it gets killed when I press brake pedal, when switch is position 1 ...

Re: Fail car

Re: Fail car

Hi Jani. I have a spare light switch if you need one. Its from a latter modol. 83 dash on. Cheers Mark. sm69 sm69 sm69 sm69 sm69 sm69 Thanks from the offer. I have earlier dash, I think that switch is different, but it really was quite simple construction to repair, for some reason it was just not ...

Re: Fail car

I finally got enough motivation to take light switch apart, or more like it had came apart by itself and of course dropped balls in process. I had to take out wires from back plate section of switch so I could put balls back to proper place (after I found them) and also secure switch box well. I too...
