Re: Electronic windows problem!
Hello Customer, you also need to make sure that everything in the mechanism is well-greased including the gearbox for the little electric motor. It means a bit of disassembling but when its done it should work well. Bests, bogbasic.

Leccy windows bypass ignition
Just curious, is there any neat way (i.e. with minimal mods to the wiring, etc) to make electric windows operable without having the ignition on? I guess its a volvo safety/security feature to make them only work when the ignition key is in place and turned, but with them indoors having a combined a...

Oh man, I'm fully with you, don't give owt back. If you buy blind, you take a chance and get what you get; been there, done that, still do it, sometimes its good, sometimes its not and that's just tough luck. The main thing is don't give anything back to these menacing types because they'll only ask...

... a coat of Sikaflex (from your nearest boat shop) will sort them. Smooth it off with a brush of white spirit before it sets to make them look awesome. The shock top mount rubber bushes... what part is needed? can they be rebonded?

Re: Creaking steering column
Hello, yes, its probbo the rubber things at the top of the struts which are easily visible under the bonnet. If the rubber gets a bit soft, they judder round as you steer. You can bulk them up with a layer of Sikaflex and it stops 'em creaking for a few months and then just repeat the treatment afte...

Re: Questions and more questions - The art of being a noob
Hello, swapping lock barrels is possible for sure - you just need to tap-out the locking pin and swap the innards over carefully! Brake drums 'should' just go back on unless (a big 'unless') there is wear on the inside of the drum which can create a ridge on the outer rim that makes it almost imposs...

Well, you may laugh, but I have owned these cars since 1997 and, until last month, I always thought DL meant diesel.

Re: Door removal tool -eBay
I found that hammering out the lower front hinge pin caused it to snag against the inside of the door skin so a Dremel-type of thing is needed to keep cutting off bits of the pin as you hammer it out! If, like me, you try one or two of the hinge-pin removal tools, there won't be much left of them at...

Glad to see someone likes the creepy old Facel.... they were cars for stars (evidently). Also, remembered a while back that I told a lie.... ...never actually saw one, ever. Has anybody?... .... I have seen one in 2002..... there's one in the motor museum in Geneva.... just trying to say how cosmopo...
