Right....MK locals....

We need a meeting place (large pub car park?), and some activities! Can someone get us some details on the karting track, and an alternative (spectating? nattering outside?) for those not wishing to participate? Also, can you be having a think about a rough route for a bit of a drive?

cheers

Large car parks will be tricky in MK ( theres so many to choose from) besides you've also got to be carefull having a gathering of cars as the police will think its an illegal cruise and start confiscating cars.

As for the Karting pass, but i'm sure at Daytona anyone can spectate for free.

As for a route there are so many ways to navigate MK. Its a large grid system after all, if youre looking for a drive out into the country you could take a burn down the A5 to Cosgrove and go to the Pub there by the side of the canal.

Illegal cruise? A load of 300s?! During the day?!?! Crikey, the world has gone barmy... :)

Sounds like a plan Chesh! Does someone want to give Daytona a call and find out about group discount, etc?

cheers

Thanks for that Mick. Who would be up for that? Sounds like a lot of fun! However my dissertation project is proving expensive, so at that price I think I'd be tempted to act as spectator / cameraman. :(

I`m afraid that 45 quid puts me firmly in the spectator bracket too...

Re meet up point (question for those that know the area really)

What about Willen lake - quite a big car park (busy at weekends though) Pub and restaurant too. Also easy to find from J14 M1

As a route for a bit of a drive, we could go A5D up to Stony and back down on the lanes via Calverton, Upper, Middle & Lower Weald and back into MK via Whaddon

That way we get a bit of Dual carriageway, a good few roundabouts and a nice stretch of twisty country lane goodness.

Will

sounds like a plan Will , I thought about Willen to but as you say it dos get busy at weekends ,I keep trying to think of somewhere where we might get a bit of space to ourselves or at least where we can park up together . Daytona has parking for over 100 cars. but Willen and the hockey stadium car park are possibles

Fantastic work chaps - that's what we need - some local knowledge. I think we'll leave that in your capable hands. How about someone does a reccy to see how busy this large car park really gets?

Willen North Lake is quieter but there`s no pub - maybe some connection there :-)

Caldecotte lake has a good sized CP + a pub. Poss. also busy at W/E s too

I might have scout round this Sun to find somewhere not too busy .
