Pub with beds is a winner idea, I like beer but it makes me go to sleep, so that'd be ideal.

Beer makes me go to bed in pubs without going home or having a wee first.

Both tend to happen soon after though.

180 miles for me.

Been to Burton Upon Trent plenty of times, so it's only a bit further. What date roughly are we looking at? Any other locations we could try?

I think we're looking at September. I need to get on this ASAP.

Do you have any other suggested venues? I'm trying to keep it quite "midlands" to make it reachable for as many people as possible. I feel your pain...I used to live in South Devon, and did the round trip to York for the VOC National. That sucked...

cheers

LIAR!!!! You broke the N'bound journey at my house where you nicked all my car cleaning equipment, bribed my son into helping you, and then proceeded to claim it as your own effort when you won First Prize.

That's nearly as bad as Chris C who won the prize for longest journey (from the IoW) a few years later when it was back at York when he left Fri PM from SOUTHAMPTON (NOT the IoW), stayed at his gf's in Swindon, sauntered up to your place at Lincoln on Sat and finally made it to York on the Sun am. Longest journey my arse!

I never claimed IoW, the VOC said that! Plus I only wrote down the milage that I'd done to get to that event... I can't help it if there were tempting things along the way (that'd be Kates bed... not Foggy and Nibbles' spare room before you even try to bend it!!!)

While yes, I broke the journey on the way up...I didn't on the way down...and it wasn't that year I won...

It did keep the urchin out of mischief for a couple of hours though, hmm? ;)

The end of July draws near and yet there is no sign of an event yet. At this rate it'll be too late to book Crich and the deadline for advertising in the VOC's Driver mag has passed. Should we just go for an 'informal' all forums/friends social at Crich this year and try to organise something bigger and better for next year?

It's now March 2010 and still no sign of anything happening.........

Perhaps you might like to think about booking for summer 2011?

oooh!
A bump.
something 300 shaped is appearing on the horizon and it would be nice to have somewhere to drive it.
