How about further North in an arc from Dover? That way it's not further for the overseas folks, but it's closer for the rest of us? Say somewhere on the M25 to the west of London - maybe even the Crooked Billet?

Seems like a plan is forming. MK may not be on the south coast, but its not a million miles away from Dover either - the AA's route planner thinks it's 140 miles, or 2 hours 30 minutes.

Fair point. However, I think is it's hardly fair to have it anywhere other than around the midlands, convenient as I know it'd be for some members, as that way the largest number of people can attend. I drove 400 miles each way to the VOC national show in York, and although I know that's a bit extreme, that's how it has to be if you live out of the way!

From my memories of Karting, will it not get a tad expensive for us student types? Petrol for the trip, and karting on top? Not that it doesn't sound a sweet plan, I just cba to organise a "swedish job" between a few of us and a bullion carrying van

Milton Keynes sounds like a plan - but yeah, may be a tad expensive for us students.. although the idea itself is sounds good!
Maybe it would be a good idea to find out who will/is likely to be attending and then sort out a location between us?

Oh my God, did someone mention Goodwood? YES PLEASE!! That is, without doubt, the best suggestion - the track can even be hired for the day so the possibility would be there for an exclusive 300 series track day. It would require a fair amount of people to sign up, although it's not as expensive as it first sounds... Amazingly when I last took my Mini 1275GT to the track it was about £30 for a whole days racing, with the London & Surrey Mini Owners Club, but got though a SERIOUS amount of petrol!! Ok, I should mention that I'm REALLY biased, as my dad has a house 10 seconds drive from Goodwood motor racing circuit (depending on which car you're in - 30 seconds in a 360!) The best thing is it's not currently lived in but the downside is it's being (slightly) renovated, but it's a biggie combined with a garden with room for loads of 340/360s!!
