It sucks cos I've got work at 6 which is why I wanted the 12:30 start. Still, I get a few hours at least :)

Fogrill has seemingly failed in the first task of the day, getting out of bed.

Me and Rupert will try and stop him c*cking anything else up...

...were prophetic.

It broke down twice - once the uninsulated trigger wire from the dizzy shorting to the dizzy housing, causing loss of spark (cue handy insulating sleeve), and secondly when the first attempt at the spark plug thread repair ended in failure. Thankfully the second attempt is holding (at present), but not before the first attempt had burned up the plug and melted the thread insert...

And the handling...well...it's even more entertaining than my 343! I actually had Rupert pretty nervous at one point...nuff said!

cheers

My Saturday went a bit like this, drop bird off at work, go home. Wash car, T cut car, quick shower. Throw a few emails out to try and meet up with people. Head on down to the New Forest, get petrol on way. Have incident with speed camera on the way down :(

Get to the services to be greeted by a lone Speedy in the carpark. Informs me that the rest of the guys will be along later, due in part i beleive to someone not getting out of bed

Chat for a bit, take some pictures, generally mill about.

Decide to go for a little drive into The New Forest, Speedy being the local boy i follow and we head off.
Not long after leaving the services we spot some Gailic retro, like thus:

Back to the Volvo action:

Body roll derrr derrr body roll (sung to Body Talk by Imagination)

I do beleive my car was looking rather shiney, check out that bonnet reflection!

Image

We stopped for a sandwich and cakes, this is how it should be done

Then continued on our merry way, dam my slow camera, i managed to miss Speedy splashing through a ford :(

Image

Out in to the country side we go

We drove around for a bit, and ended up in a car park. Speedy gets a call from Chris, we turn round and i ruin my mornings cleaning covering it in mud. Next we get stuck in the mother of weekend little village traffic jams. By the time we get through it Speedy has to go to work. So i get Chris' number off of him, he disapears into the distance and i go and find a pub to meet the rest of the guys in.

I wait in the car park reading the new RetroCars. I wait a bit more, and a bit more, then brbrbbrrbbrbrbrbbrbrbbr , hmm i think sounds interesting, i look over my shoulder to be greeted by Chris in his car and Foggy and Rupert in the noisiest, but most badass sounding Mk1 EVAR
We drink we have a laugh, we go for a wander to another car park and loiter around a 3dr 300.

Back to the pub and we head off to the services to try and find some kind of repair for Foggys silencer or more like lack of.

Mk1 goodness in the rear view

We get to the services, have a pee break and look around the WHSmiths in a vain attempt to find an exhaust fix, it doesn't come to fruition though.

The high rider rides a little higher :D

3's a crowd? No 3's a mini meet

We have another fuel stop say our fair wells and disapear in different dirrections.
198 miles (in total) later i get home .
