Trackday??? any interest?
Well if we managed say even 10 people at £10 each then thats £100 but id happily pay more as I reckon it'd be more beneficial than a £99 track venue. I guess if we can keep costs down then more people would want to do it and therefore the cheaper it would work out, count me in for £20 easily but I guess fuel costs are going to add a lot to that (plus the repairs after lol). I don't think £20 is unreasonable so with 10 people that'd give £200 to offer them but just have to see what they say, I mean we paid £4 to get into that museum lol!

Ok, well, as much as I like the track idea, I'm with others about having the relative safety of not a) damaging my own car, b) someone elses c) other cars miles faster than us. I think a set of cones on an airfiled is the way to go, soooooo much more fun, and timed runs will still be good, and as stated before, less chance of collisions. Santa Pod was £10 to get in and £15 to race from memory on a 'Race What Ya Brung' day. So up to about that would be good for me.

We could try a 'budget' version first, then go for a 'proper' trackday at a later date. 'Proper' trackdays tend to be much more expensive that the prices being thrown about here What we need is some time at an 'autocross' event like the ones that all the yanks go crazy over.

Autocross??? Racing across motocross tracks, or like auto tests? I like the idea of a kinda organised day, few head up early, set up a autotest for the morning, bit of a play in the middle, maybe a timed circtui in afternoon. Could be really good, section for playing when not 'competeing' (read failing) a section?!? Few of us get up early, and act as semi marshals, so it's set up when people arrive even? I can do early starts at Bovingdon, I'll be staying a mile or so away if it happens

I'd volunteer for an early start too but according to autoroute its 4hours away lol, i'll definately help out with marshalling though, your day plan sounded good Chris with the mess about session, I guess it'll take a while to set up the track then give everyone a chance for a play around on it to get an idea for entry speeds before timed runs. If we can get hold of our own cones too I guess it'd help, just not sure how you'd be able to transport that many. If we tell the airfield owner that it will be purely time attack sessions with one person on track at a time then I guess they'd be a lot less worried about insurance,

I love driving in North Wales... I love the A4212 from Bala cutting across through to Porthmadog on the A487. Anglesey is also a lovely place to drive, the road from the Britannia Bridge through to Newbrough is a nice drive! Also, how expensive is the Anglesey race circuit

guys , doing a track day on our own is not good , what if someone does need medical attention ?
Anyway - ive mooted this before to the tbricks guys - blyton in gainsborough has a sperate test area , that is just cones , and its not too bad on the surface price £45+vat .
You have to sign a decleration you wont sue anybody etc etc , bring a helmet , and im sure well be ok .
Does anybody want me to follow this up ?

That sounds appealing. A V3M / Tbricks combination would help the expense a fair bit I reckon.

I'd probably be up for it depending on how many other members we can get, £45 a car sounds quite steep but guess it isn't when you pay £25 to drive in a straight line at the pod! How much driving does this include? At last count I saw at least 12 people who posted interested in this thread so how many do we need to have it to ourselves?
