Cadwell Park... always liked that place, the name just needs a little bit of changing though....

Bovingdon is a disused airfield, which has a market on it on a Saturday morning, I think, and is used for racing at other times. I couldn't find a number or anything, but it would be just the ticket. £99 for Cadwell Park.... how long is that for?

Only problem with cadwell park being that we'd be the slowest things on the track and i'd pressume it'll be quite busy too? Be better with an empty airfield and a time attack round a set course to reduce the likely hood of collisions perhaps? Just think it would be a better friendly environment to learn in without any pressure? I know i'd rather spin out like that than on a proper track with cars twice as fast behind me! Bovington sounds really good though especially if we already know it has been used for motorsports in the past,

Yeah, I'm more keen as well in truth.. just Cadwell resembles my surname quite a lot... I'll see if I can get anyone to do a scout of the place, there used to be a phone number on a board at the entrance.

Guys, once again Mick has got down and done something about what we all talked about. To follow up on this, before we ring, I think we need to:

a) Work out when this is going to happen, I'm not sure what Bovvy's schedule is, let alone ours

b) Find out who are attending, to work out costs

c) Appoint a trips co-ordinator (Stevie Boy, as he is mod of this bit as far as I remember :P) to get onto it.

A and B are vital, so we can find out if this is a go-er. T-Bricks as ever welcome I'd imagine, more that come, cheaper it gets as usual. Get onto it

Other things to think about (for the students amongst us) is a collection of cones (yeah, ok, most of us have grown out of it, but instant autotest can be setup) and other such goodies. A big piece of concrete would be a superb day with a bit of forethought... donuts will get boring after an hour or so.

So, Chris' Answers

a) Most weekends given a bit of notice

b) I'll chuck in around £10-15 into the kitty, which with my petrol is around a £40-£50 day.

I agree that an empty airfield would be better as there would just be 300's. Also flying off the course will not result in hitting a tyre wall.

Empty airfields are great, count me in! Weekends are a good bet for me.

I may be able to organise a (legal) collection of cones with a bit of notice too.

Personally I would prefer a track. Anyone got a guide to how much they could spend? I think if we prebooked a fair sized group for a day at a decent track it would be £100 or less.
