Retro rides has and always will be about the "everything has potential" ethos. You'll notice though that most of the club stands there are made up of people who are on RR but also belong to their small, minority "cool" groups. Plus it appears that most of RR is made up of young people, bringing that know-it-all card to the table too for many characters. I got a slightly more uptight feel from this show rather than Retro Show for example but like I say, it was only from dubbers/rat lookers. There are people who don't fall into the RR ethos and at A52 we call them "outsiders"

I don't get the "rat" thing either, but each to their own.

I did have a group of 17 year olds declare loudly that my car was "a pile of shit", but I'm happy to smile, nod, and leave them to their ignorance. Well...and maybe issue a "race me" (and hope they're in something slow...).

Speaking of slow, I barely edged out a second generation Vectra at a set of lights on the way home. It was badged a "2.0 DTI", which has 98bhp and a million tons...so I'm sensing a badge swap, because like bollocks was that a 2.0 DTI, even with a remap.

cheers

See, that's what I don't get. When a car is just old, it's "shit" but as soon as it's ratted it becomes "cool as f**k". For crying out loud.

That's what I do like about the 300s, everyone thinks they're really slow and crap, but they're actually not as bad as they expect. I just think "so what" when someone says they think it's not fast or crap. They don't know what's actually under the bonnet or what's been done to it. My car (although it's not working at the mo) cost me around 1500 to get to this stage, including buying the car, and when it works, it's proper quick. People can spend a lot more money and not get as fast a car.

At the end of the day, it's all in the name of fun, in the car that YOU love. Who gives a crap about what anyone else thinks, if your happy, that's what matters.

(mmm cheesy last line)

Kid on a BMX grinned and poked his mates as I drove past earlier, he then put his thumb, he seemed to be impressed with the car haha :)

Excellent! Cheers mate. I've got a video of foggy/rupert's cars but I'll have to splice them together first.
