Well, it doesn't look like I'm going to be there at all, with car or with anyone else, work must come first this time. However, hope everyone has an excellent time, and indeed, I want to see under bonnet pictures of those shiny engine bays! Enjoy.
Pete

I was a member of the VOC until last year but am not now - does that matter if I turn up on Sunday?

You can only enter the show (ie: to be told that you haven't polished under the bonnet enough) if you're a current member. You can park in the car park (grrr) and walk around to your hearts content. I'll consider it a smug achievement if we can get more 300s (in a line, please chaps!) in the car park than in the showground.

Context:
1) Young driver prize farce
2) Non-examined / entered cars not allowed into showground. So no trailored (racing cars?*) / part restored / etc....

Having said that - in a fit of hypocracy - I'm a fully paid-up card carry VOC (honoury) beardy, so my car will be entered :) I'm not half as bitter as I sound...and I genuinely hope some of the comments which have been forwarded to the organisers have been taken on board...we'll see.

cheers

James

* Kev Strong trailered his racing 360 to the 2004 National, only to be told that he could park it in the car park. He didn't want it to be judged, just to be on show as an interesting Volvo....but no, in the car park, thanks. That my friends is, in a nutshell, everything that's wrong about the spirit of the VOC and the national.

You'll be picking me up for not having a genuine Volvo battery next. Ever thought of being a judge at the BKV?
