Hi all! Apologies for the late announcement...

We return to the Midlands for 5th annual Volvo Owners Club 'National' 300-series event of recent times. The venue for the Sunday is the northern section of the preserved Great Central Railway at Ruddington, Nottingham.

We'll meet at 10am for a day of looking at cars, touring the exhibits at the centre, and maybe a train ride for those who are interested. For this year, we're going to resurrect the informal BKV last seen at Crich in 2010, with crowd-judged prizes given in categories such as Best 300, Best modified 300, Best other, etc.

Admission is free, and (subject to numbers) we are hoping to be able to fund train rides for anyone who is interested.

We'll probably end up doing something on the Saturday, too - most likely a drive around some fun roads in the area, followed by pub and camping / hotelling. If you'd be interested in joining us for that, put your name down, and we'll get some details planned. For those planning to hotel it, booking something near Ruddington would be a wise move. There's a Premier Inn about half a mile away, for starters.

It would be excellent to see as many of you there as possible.

Tenting options nearby? Otherwise I'll book some lodges of travelling.

I'll see what I can do - I'm doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks on the Saturday, so will more than likely be in the S60

I definitely won't be there on the Saturday and it's highly unlikely I'll be able to make the Sunday. There's always next year.....

Should be coming on the Sunday, probably bringing Bjorn ('85 vario).

I will look into campings dreckly, as the Cornish would say, but it's safe to assume we'll be operating in the vicinity of Ruddington for the Saturday night.

Is anyone free on the Saturday? Seems pretty quiet on that front so far. We can organise a drive, or just a pub trip and camping / hotels...whatever anyone fancies?

I'm probably going to just do the Sunday now and won't be in the Volvo. DPG is a little poorly after its first proper night rally, sump guard brackets collapsed and sump guard wedged in the sump, alternator dead and at least one wheel bearing is too loud to ignore!
