East Midlands (NOT SO ) mini meet
I might come, but only if you let me travel by jetpack... These road numbers confuse me. The '60 will make its own way there using nothing but innate dutch intelligence and a large breezeblock attached to the accelerator.
I haven't yet discussed this with Ronette, who may voice some opposition to the idea of me travelling one hundred miles in order to stand around in a car park with a load of blokes (mostly) earnestly discussing cars which most people laugh at, instead of staying home and providing for my burgeoning family (ie feeding the baby and making tea).
I'll let you know before hand, Adam so you know whether to drag that grill with you.
Toodle pip
PS - anyone else coming up the M5?

Well, we had some lovely weather here in the vicinity of Donington Park over the weekend. I was out washing the car in short sleeves on Saturday. Couldn't help but think how nice it would be if it was just as nice for the meet.
However, the rain set in yesterday and it seems like the sort of rain that will not stop for a month.
Still, you never know...
[edit] Yep, I've just checked the weather forecast and they say the same

well gavin, stuntman and foggy have made vague utterings about this so .
I am going to propose a mini meet sometime in March in the Nottingham area,
the location is up to Gavin to sort as I have never even been to Nottingham and he is so desperate to get the two grey redlines to meet up and any other car (especially with graphics ) would be very welcome.
sunday the 12th or the 26th would be good for me .
what do others think , this will not replace the Easter meet but is an additional date

Oh yes, I'd like to remind you all of my earlier disclaimer as well:
And it wasn't me that chose Donington Park, it was only a suggestion lol.Cornholio wrote:I'm guessing that they won't be too strict about the parking. After all, the venue hosts GPs and this weekend they only have a track day and a trade exhibition.340GLT wrote:Only thing with Donny is do you reckon we will be able to park where we want or have to be directed about??? Might be a pain if everyone is spread about!!!
Cheers Adam
However, if it all goes wrong, please don't blame me
No, what am I blithering about, it'll be great!
And I'm sure we could find a pub if needs be

Honestly, some people (i.e. me) take no interest in their local amenities. Didn't realise that Donington has a museum with 'the world's largest collection of grand prix cars'.
Admission (to the museum) is £7 (£6 with more than 15 in a group). Oh, I'm starting to look forward to this more all the time!
The younger ones among you may wonder what all the fuss is about GP racing. However, some of us remember days when there actually was racing at an F1 event.
Which makes me ask, how come we're having this meet during the first GP of this season?!?

* The only complete collection of Vanwalls anywhere in the world, including several which have been lovingly restored in the Collection's own workshops.
* The 1934 Maserati 8CM, Tazio Nuvolari's personal car for the 1934 season.
* The Lotus in which Stirling Moss defeated the might of the Ferrari works team in the 1961 Monaco Grand Prix.
* The McLaren in which Ayrton Senna won the 1993 European Grand Prix at Donington Park.
* The World Champions Helmet Collection.

Dunno why you're worried, in near enough your own words, there isn't any racing anymore (although thats supposed to have changed last season, didn't see any though) Nothing like when I was into it, and Mansell, Senna and Fittipaldi use to have some proper scraps! Not sure when that was though, way before Hill got involved. My dad got me into F1 at an early age
Subject in hand.. I bought a timing belt and thermostat today, so as long as I'm not to retarded, and fit it ok, I'll be along

Ah but I saw a car get overtaken this year in a grand prix, such a rare sight I watched it again when it was replayed that night
Right so this convoy malarky, I'd like people to go with as I keep getting lost and i don't want to spend hours drivong around attracting attention in TULIP
Anyone want to be my friend?
