MK2 FTW
Sure I'd consider if some nice ones came up, but I'd have to get the tires changed from these to the new rims. If I waited for them to run out of tread I'd be waiting about 15 years
I agree that the hubcaps let it down, and some better rims would make a world of difference, but I don't care too much TBH

Dude, please tell me you know the rubber in tyres perishes

Yeah, that's why the original tyres were replaced a couple years ago, they still had some legal tread left
Grandad always drove steadily with it so its only had two sets of tyres in its life Spare tyre has never seen the road lol
Judging by the pic of you on the track yours won't last as long
I was talking to somone yesterday and cambelts came up. His daughters seat had to get a new one and they quoted something like £300 Dad looked up our recipts last night and found our last change was about £30. It probably didn't need replacing, but as you say, rubber perishes and a belt is simple and cheap...

I've been through... erm... I have really no idea how many sets of tyres since I started driving, usually a new set of rears every 8 months or so...
Cd arrived in the post this morning mate, ta muchly! Isn't as sideways as I'd thought, but great stuff all the same! I'll get them hosted as soon as I can! There are some amazing pictures on there.
And as for the belt, definately do it, I think Volvo say every 3 years, and it screws your engine if if goes ping!

Glad you like the pics, and that the post is so effective. Posted @ 5:30PM yesterday, and to you by today
I enjoy photography, but have never really learnt much about it except the two thirds rule. I did try out something called HRD on a few of the photos of my car. You take a series (3 in this case) identical photos with different appature settings (brightness) and combine them in photoshop. If you get the brightness perfect for the car, the sky is overexposed, so by combining images you get a great result. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging
I think the cambelt was changed in 2000 as there's a sticker inside the drivers door on the frame, and I'm sure it was done again since then, but the sticker was left
