Volvo 66 operation, pit stop in Belgium
Today I saw James, Andy and V6man on the way for Germany... with the Volvo 240 and a Volvo 66 on the trailer Very short meet but very nice!
I have a funny little video when James leaves my house... And it's not the "Duvel" effect, he was the only one drinking a Cola

Hahah!!! Watch Andy's face! It's superb, and you can hear exactly what he's thinking!!!!
Glad the 240 has made it that far

LOL, Aymat, Steve and myself all said exactly the same thing as soon as we saw the clip!
James, don't forget you're dragging something behind you there! Let's hope that the temp needle keeps down, as it was getting somewhat warm just as a 240, let alone a 240 plus trailer, then a 240, plus trailer, plus Daf 66! Oh and Andy is in charge of fuel, so all should be fine on that front! Have a great trip and a safe one!

Hmmm, are you sure? He must think that the 240 is special, I've never seen him replace anything on his 300'sSteveP wrote:having quizzed Foggy about it he's already looked over/replaced all the parts I suggeted

Loads of room chaps! I don't think I'd manage to drive a trailer hundreds of miles without wrecking countless cars if I didn't live by the 'this is wider than the towcar' rule
It still needs choke when the needle is over halfway....surely a sign that the gauge is wrong? There's almost certainly a problem with the cooling system too, but the gauge is making it look worse than it is. Now we're back it'll get all new hoses, a water pump, and a new radiator. Then it's time to look at what's causing the wierd suspension noises which started soon after leaving Aymat.
All things considered, it did bloody well, whisking us across Europe at speed, towing a great deal of weight, and even returning acceptable MPG given the conditions (20MPG with over a ton on the back). There were bound to be some issues, but even with Rupert's driving it managed to find a Halfords outside which to pop a hose
cheers
James
