Well, I'm actually with Foggy, although no disrespect to Andy's car, I think it's very planted, smooth and the new components have made a huge difference. I still didn't see it as being anything out of the realms of the capability of a 360's handling, or at least one with decent or unworn components. I can't remember if Beast was high mileage or not, but it seems to me as though you've not experienced the full potential of a 360 from Beast!

Tyres are something I will not scrimp on, and on my 360 it handled so much better on the wider 15's of a decent make, going back to Pirellis (not impressed by them despite them supposedly being a good make, P6000's are lethal in the wet!) on the 14's was a shock.

The 340 is definitely lighter at the rear, and it shows, it feels as though it wants to carry on out past you on corners sometimes, where as the 360 is very planted at the rear, and does need serious provocation to have the similar feeling.

Yeah, I have to say I like the feel of your car Pete, on its 15 inchers, but even though my car on 14s does feel slightly more bouncy, the car does feel more planted, if you know what I mean :?, even with your new rear shocks.

Definitely new components make a huge difference. Mine has had new front springs, shocks, bushes (apart from ARB) and rear shocks (proper gas ones from Volvo).

Smutmuffin :-p

Nessy feels to handle better than the 360, but I think it's just because there's less weight swinging around - the corner speeds are no higher. Perhaps if it had fresh suspension? Nessy feels a lot more skittish on the edge...the 360 will break loose gently, if it's going to do it, whereas Nessy is a bit more snappy. Both cars have good tyres...but quite a bit of the difference could be down to differences in brands of tyres - it does make a huge difference.

cheers

I know what you mean mate! I think you're right the lower profile tyres make it less bouncy, which is probably where I identified the tail movement in your car, the suspension is definitely nice and tight and fresh feeling, like the 10000 mile vario! That is probably as close as you'll get to the original feel of a 300 from the factory, unless you go to the length Andy has, it is definitely worth while though, and I want to sort the front of my 360 now to match the back.
