I agree on there not being many cameras, but I've always found it to be well policed. I got a bollocking last christmas for doing 56mph in my truck, but luckily he let me off with a warning (speed limit for HGV's being 50mph on a Dual Carriageway)SteveP wrote:Really? There are very few cameras and I've not seen many patrol cars on there the times I've been on it...V6 Man wrote:The N Wales Constabulary have a very visible prescence on the A55 - speed at your own discretion.

I might bail on the WHR idea...there's a diesel service which sets off at 15:25, but you'd wanna be steam hauled, if you were gonna do it...and the last steam service is at 13:55. Bummer. (http://www.welshhighlandrailway.net/timetable.htm)
I'm still up for taking the A55 back. I've got a mate who lives near Chester...might call in on him.
cheers
James

Well there was a devious plan a while back involving the closet V3M railway fans, a B&B holiday, and several of the North Wales narrow gauge lines (WHR, Fest, Talyllyn, VoR, etc). Perhaps we should make it a plan for the spring?

I'd also been keen on a meet down those line. I bet the old man would be up for it aswell.
Well for the first time ever I'm the first home from a meet
It been a truely great day so thanks to Davey (blingio dentio), Mickt + steve, nibbles, James and Michol for coming along and making the day.
The weather held out to a lardge extent for us and the drive was fantastic.
Steve you missed out big time on this one

I've just got back!
Michol's Renix failed and so he got stranded on the A55 at Penmhernyernnynllgogch... or something like that!
Ryan and I waited with him for the RAC to show up (had some refreshments and watched some bits of Pearl Harbour in the 850's cinema!) and then set off again, I'm home now, and pics will follow (the film ones will have to wait, but they'll be posted in the fulness of time!)
Had a great day, the welsh roads are fantastic! I'm well up for another, bigger meet in spring!

Enjoy your 300s
Here are my photos from the museum, the ones from the line-up will have to wait until I've finished the film in the camera (probably by the photo competition deadline)

Nice pics Dave. It will be good to see the line up pics.
If I had known Michol needed a renix I could have ran a spare one out.
I'm glad everyone enjoyed the day
