Aux air valve questions

Post by jtbo » 14 Aug 2005 03:30 pm

I know that one hose from aux air valve connects to intake manifold, but how about that hose that is attached to underside of aux air valve?

It connects to the throttle body next to iddle adjustment screw. :P

Hmm, and how about crank case ventilation hose?

Now it is connected to throttle body :(

Maybe I need different hoses.

Crank case ventilation hose would go in to the rubber bend between the TB and the air mass flow meter (I have that between the turbo and AMM but on stock it would be between TB and AMM) but since you have Megasquirt I guess you don't have that. Put in some T- or Y-splitter. Should work as long as the crank case ventilation doesn't have any spots where the water could gather. (Freezes at the winter and that's not nice :P Happened to me when I put 90-degree plastic bend on the hose.)

Must try that then.

Problem is that now without some restriction idle rpm will go around 2500 when started and rise even higher in 20 seconds. I have adjusted idle so small that if I block aux air valve then engine stalls, even it runs so high revs.

After 10 minutes rev's are only 1500 and don't come much lower, so I have now some temporarily restriction build into aux air valve.

Would be nice to get it operate normally, now there is not possible to make balance between cold start and warm idle :(
