Post by GazzaD » 20 Apr 2006 03:16 pm

My rev counter stopped, just died no pinging about or anything, just one day (sat) started the car and no rev counter...any clues?

My rev counter has the same problem. One week didn't work and one day it works. Today it won't work again...

I'll try this weekend to solve the problem and post the result.

just see if its the multiplug connector on the dash first before condemning the rev counter itself.

If you take out the 4 plugs (pull the inside of each plug out first) to remove the plastic cover below the steering wheel, start the car and then wiggle the left hand multiplug connector at the back of the dash as this one's got the connection for the rev counter.

This sounds very stupid but with the ignition on and the car running, flick the instrument cluster in front of the rev counter. Mine sticks occasionally and if you flick it it works again. Been fine ever since!!
