Key Blanks

Post by Kyuss » 02 Dec 2004 08:54 am

umm... as anal as it sounds, I have a desire to acquire a genuine Volvo key blank (with the built in keyhole light) for a 1984/1985 360 GLT.

I understand that these are not available from Volvo Australia. Are they available either from Volvo or any other vendor in Europe?

Currenlty unroadworthy, plenty-o-rust and
missing bits. Maybe Feb '05 on the road.

if u got the time energy and are THAT desperate for a key with that light, when i'm done with my donor car i can rip the locks and sh!t out for ya and send them up with the key, the key needs a new globe and battery but it works.

PS: kyuss if ur ever passin through coffs harbour, lemme know prior. I must see a 360 that isnt silver or dark metalic blue.

that sounds great lonewolf, although I am wondering if I am taking this genuine parts thing too seriously...

nah.

Hell of a lot of work for an original key, but I am a sucker for punishment. How much would you want for the 2 doors (is rear door and petrol the same key?) or whatever and ignition?

I do have family in Newcastle, so probable I would head down the coast and back via the New England Hwy. The bad part of that deal being that the brick is not likely to get on the road until Feb '05, *under his breath* and it is silver...
