Yes, it was reading 8mpg...and that was off the throttle!

It's averaged 14mpg since I put them on, but bear in mind a) it's been at WOT a lot of the time, and b) the tuning is highly inaccurate. I'll settle for 25-30mpg at 70 when we're all tuned up. I've seen the meter read 40mpg, but that was under engine braking. Its used about £5 of petrol to cover 20 miles...eek!

cheers

Very nice sounds! Carbs are cool when they are working properly. :P I got nice sounds too now, not that nice growl though. My car was at this turbo shop for couple weeks. All internals of the turbo were replaced with new parts and whole turbo was bead blasted so it is nice and shiny now. :D All seals were also replaced which means no exhaust leaks anymore! Engine feels like a totally diffrent engine now. Pulls much better at low rpm's and the sounds are much better than before when it sounded like an impact wrench. When the turbo starts to spool there's this nice high pitch sound of moving air. :P Exhaust sounds got louder also.. Almost too loud for my preferencies. I gotta take some vids also when I'll get my new digital camera.

The owner of the shop had a totally crazy Volvo 240... B21 based, 400-500hp, HUGE turbocharger, Hestec etc... Someone has bought the engine though but he has plans for 2.6l EVO-block and aiming for 600-700hp... He said that with current engine he gets wheelspin on highway if he floors it at 100km/h. :D Street legal and MOTed.

Whoohoo! Great Sound!
My filters got in today, my carbs have been ready to fit for months...
Can't wait to mount the kit.
360GLS, 220k, soon to be fitted with double carbs, and a 1993 850GLT.

Top tip: Assuming you're using the original manifold with the rubber spacers, seal the join between the spacer and the manifold, and the spacer and the carbs.

Not at all. If I had half a brain I'd still have a stock B200K which can do 45mpg at 70. But three years of studentdom have robbed me of little brain function I had...so carbs it is
