That was incl engine heat ;) As with all such devices they overread in traffic. It was averaging more like 27-28.

Mine is in the wrong place (I knew no better - that was where I got it from on the donor car), as its through the box section just below the radiator (so not that bad, but not ideal either).

It should go through a hole in the drivers side front bumper mounting...take off the vent cover in the front bumper and you'll see the hole - it'd be a REALLY good place in a vario (with the vents).

cheers

actually, the vents shouldnt make much difference - they'd make a breeze but i doubt it'll get much effect from the engine heat there anyway.

Ricer :-P You'll want a bonnet scoop next :-P

Yeah, true. The one on my mates cavalier fits on the bottom of the bumper, right in front of the front wheel, and that isn't affected by engine heat, but it is affected by a hot road!

Yea, but where the sensor is mounted is behind and down from the front bumper, surrounded by the bodywork, all metal, so its like a little oven! My gauge read 32 degrees today!

And James, behind a vario vent wouldn't be a good idea - Wind Chill - again inacurate readings.

Cheers

actually wind chill doesnt affect thermometers, it only affects people. thus why 'wind chill' is added after temperatures on weather reports. its because the wind pulls your bodyheat away from your body making you colder.

Humm about the A/C, you finally bought a kit James???

I wish I could have the airco on my 360 (B200E with air recirculation button) but the car is LHD Someone said that LHD or RHD was important sm16 Is it really so?

MJT-R 242, how much would it cost to send it to Belgium?

Its imporatnt i believe as you have to change the heater box, and the heater box is dependant on which side the steering wheel is i.e. LHD or RHD. On my RHD, the air intake for the heater (from bonnet vent) is on the LHS of my car, where as on a LHD car i believe the intake is on the RHS... Look Below at the pics...

RHD Motor, LHS Vent Intake...

Therefore I dont believe the air con units are comatible, however i havent seen one, the innards maybe...??? :?:

I have the "magic" green Volvo book used in the garages that explains everything about the airco, installation...... Maybe I can find more information there... But it's "somewhere" in my bedroom! sm61
