Nice one dude, looks like you had fun on the whole job :)

Just out of curiosity what have you done with the old engine is it still in bits? If you still have it what do you plan to do with it? If you decide to sell anything off it, if it's the 1.7 would you happen to have the oil dipstick and tube?? Or even if it's a 1.4 and the dipstick and tube are the same on those.

Now we know what the problem was, the idea is to rebuild the old engine and eventually put it back in the car someday.
