Rear pop-outs

Post by magnumpi » 12 Jun 2010 04:45 pm

I went along today to my local scrappy (GW Bridges/ Pease Pottage if your wondering), and was about to give up the elusive 300 search when right in the corner i found one. It was a 3dr and strangely enough in the same grey as mine, i've seen 5 in scrappys in this colour now. Pretty much stripped of everything already, but if you are after a set of doors, both were good with minimal/no rust/ or dents, the bonnet looked ok aswell, but as it was under another car it had been wedged up so possible damage at the top end.

Anyway, the reason i come to the Technical section is because one thing the previous vultures hadn't removed were the perfect condition rear pop outs, oh or door rubbers so i helped myself to them to.

What i want to know is are the pop outs retro fitable to my non pop out window shell. Yes i know they will fit, but without having to strip all the trim out the back, does anyone know if the holes are pre drilled on all shells or am i gona have to do that myself?

Muchos gracias

Cheers for that info, it was the backs that would be more hassle to get out and check anyway.

I may well have 2 sets, but sadly as of today i've realised it's not a complete set, i.e it's missing the rear quarter panel plastic, but it only needs a slot cutting out, so if your handy with a Dremel? Oh and the trim that goes up the front pillar with the seatbelt mounts has a crack in it.

Alright Adam, yeah i'm good mate, I thought you'd be able to tell by now when i'm not ,due to my continual phone calls and txt for advice

Good to know about the windows, is there an easy way to get the old ones out with out breaking them?

I've no idea how much they'd want for the doors mate as it depends who serves you on the day the price seems to vary quite a bit.
I think i've got a phone number for them somewhere so i'll PM it to you tomo as i'm off out now.
