i still don't see the point of pressurecharging the original B14.4E, even with a small mitsubushi charger.
the camshaft and CR will perform "fine" untill you go over 0,2 or 0,3bar boost; setting up a carb to handle boost will require a lot of guts and knowhow; setting up a boost-capable carb to work on this engine will require a lot of guts and knowhow.. let alone the ignition wich has to be re-mapped or it will start detonating as soon as the boost kicks in.
and even then; 85/90bhp is the max you can hope for before the block gets to the point where it will blow into bits and pieces without serious AFR dyno tuning and a few internal upgrades.
so again; you're best of to start with a 5 GTT's engine in wich the cam, pistons, carb + intake manifold, cylinderhead and so on are allready matched for the 120bhp these had at the factory; the only tricky bit on those to get it in a 300 or 66 is the exhaust manifold+downpipe and clutch (stock B14 plate won't hold the torque.) clutch is allready easaly solvable with a Sachs racing paddle clutch plate
manifold will have to be a home job and whether it's a 66 or a 340, you can definatly get it to fit.
the IC system speaks for itself, and i strongly reccomend an oilcooler system with thermostate to eliminate the 5's headgasketblowing disease.
phase 2 5gtt's are the best to get your parts of, these allready have the RE209 ignition (slightly improved curve to the old RE208 unit) ; watercooled T2 turbocharger and some other small internal changes.
once you get this going and fitted properly; you are with the stock internals etc able to get it safe up to aprox 140bhp at the crank by slightly increasing the boost and get a new main jet for the carb.
after that a sharper cam, proper turbo and carb/injection upgrade will get the charged 1.4 8v above 200bhp with a hand strapped to the back, currently i'm very well underway to get my engine to that level (and slightly beyond

). though, you might want to question yourself if that's neccasary (especially for a 66). mine allready was scary as hell to drive with aprox 150bhp (4th gear wheelspin on highway in slight rain and with reasonably good tires)
