Welded Differential.. Causes problems??
Welded Differential.. Causes problems??
Has anyone with a welded differential on there 300's had any sort of problems, like things winding up and breaking, going through tyres like nothing etc etc.
And would anyone say it would be ok to use as an everyday car?

I have a project list, just no car. Fail
Re: Welded Differential.. Causes problems??
I run one on my every day 360 mate and apart form the usual annoyance of parking and tight corners it is fine. Tyre wear is maybe 10% worse than normal IME and nothing has broken.
The most annoying this is when it kangaroos and makes it look like you can't drive! That, and the sound of the drivetrain rattling about when sometimes doing the above.
Do it. It transforms the car for drifting. The little trade off's are minor in comparison and well worth it.

Not a problem at all. Don't believe what people say when they say god kills a kitten everytime a diffs welded. It's non-sense
Just make sure to remind the MOT man the diff is locked before doing a brake test lol

Good advice lol. If the car's going on a ramp anywhere and you aren't pulling it on tell them then also!

And to be honest, i think the kangaroo-ing looks good on some cars, in small doses that is.
Thanks for the response, will deffinatly be welding the diff when i eventually get a 340.
Anyone know anywhere to get parts for lowering, stiffer suspension and stuff?
Last few questions
Is the stud pattern 4x100? The same as most german and british cars?
And the 1.4 models, is the cylinder head the same as the B18 + B20 model engines, as im thinking of two twin weber carb setup in the future, anyone seen this before??
Sorry about all the questions, im kinda new to this stuff
I have a project list, just no car. Fail
Re: Welded Differential.. Causes problems??
stud pattern is 4x100 and no the cylinder head is completely different as the 340s run Renault engine
Re: Welded Differential.. Causes problems??
