As above, with the erratic spearking of the B230 I am going to have to remove the engine and check the flywheel is correctly alligned, so I can 100% rule it out of the equation.
Is it easier to pull the engine or drop the torque tube/remove the bellhousing?

depends if you have access to a pit/ramps or not, having said that there is the little access port thing underneath that you may be able to check the hole/blank alignment on the flywheel vs the tdc arrow in the cam belt cover.

Re: Easier to pull eng or drop t tube to check flywheel?
You could try removing the flywheel sensor and inspecting down the hole to look for the TDC gap. You might be able to compare to the front pulley marking.
A more accurate method would be a timing light while cranking. It should be in the vicinity of 0 to 12 advance shown on the front pulley. I could check mine with the king lead off and see what it does during cranking.
