Stripping

Post by valman » 18 Aug 2010 08:09 pm

well today:
Image

i did that. just because i could. im going to wash the carpets and had to take most of that out anyway so thought might as well to see what its like. cant say i like it atall, its noisy - you can hear everything probably a good thing if ones running a 1.8 valver etc but not a 1.4 with a blowing exhaust thats cracked at the 4-2 section.
cant say ive noticed alot acceleration wise - still slow but that is down to my clutch and hopefully i will be able to give a different opinion on it tomorrow once its replaced.

your experiences?

Discussed this before, it'll shave a few tenths of a second but generally makes your car handle worse. It probably feels better because it's slightly less top-heavy

Oh that's easy, I nicked a three-legged stool from my gran's and use that instead. It's a bit wobbly in the bends, but it saves 10 grammes in weight

following some recent revelations, it maybe important to adjust the rear reaction rod according the cars running weight and ride height. Make sure that its all moving/not seized and I think the idea is to adjust the axle so it is horizontal with the weight you want.

make sure you do a big poo before drifting (not during!) for extra tenths of seconds shaving.

Adding lightness is the key..

Poo, haircut, then race naked.

Chris_C taught me that.

yeah didnt they save half a kilo on the bloke from brainiac once?

in all seriousness though - this was just for lols not "omgz extra doriftooo pointz man" im going to clean carpets and add sound matting + rubber/sponge strips wherever it might vibrate when its all going back in, i want a quiet car, its nice hearing what the passenger is telling you when youre going 70 down a motorway
