Just had my wheel bearings collapse the other day, so I decided to change the rear axle. on removing the axle I noticed the top torque are bush had fallen apart(see picture). Also the replacment axle had the same problem. So I had a look at my other scrap cars to find both
of them suffering from the same fault.

As aresult of this I think it would be a good idea to make polyurethane replacment bushes with stainless steel sleeves. They should cost under £15 a pair if enough people put there name down.
I will have to have 50 pairs made. If I get 15 names I will keep the rest as stock.
If I get enough intrest I will look at getting other bushes made.

Thanks

Dai

I have further looked into this and they will be about £12.50 inculding postage to the UK for a set

What does a the top torque are bush actually do?

Well the torque arm sets the radius of movement for the rear axle. Any bushings isolate the moving parts from the chassis, but more are weak, creaking, and not really doing their job at this age.

As the word torque is involved.... is this 360 only? (Cor, take me away from electronics, and all goes wrong) As my shocks are all getting to the shagged stage, and creaking rom somewhere, might be worth replacing when I get round to doing them.

Right.... I'll look at some pretty pictures, and get me head round the suspension effort, but if it's a bit that'll need changing, getting good'uns sounds like the way forward

These bushings are universal to all 300's? if so i'm possibly interested in 2 pairs.

Also are they the only bushings you would be having made up or are there any for the front that are being made?

I will check and make sure what models they will fit, I think they are all the same but not sure as I not a 340 expert. I know PV, amazon, P1800 140 and 240's best. I will make any bush as long as enough people want them or someone will meet the tooling costs.
I have already made the anti roll bar link rod bushes.
I will consider the leaf spring bushes, the anti roll bar to boby mount bush as I will be needing these. I have have spent a lot on superflex bushes for the front so I don't need to make them but if people want them I will have them made.

If you have a spare set of rear and/or front bushes, how much to post to Australia? I need to replace all my bushes and a few other parts too!
