r19 16v and clio 16v

hiya folks are these engines the same? im pretty sure thay are. will the r19 engine bolt straight it my volvo 340 1.7 gl?

So . . . are you selling or not? :lol:

as for the engine, I'm not sure. I seem to remember reading somewhere they are similar, but couldn't say for sure. Clio ones are easier to come by surely. Loads on ebay, 1.8ltr ones at least . . .

im stuck between a rock and a mrs lol. i love the car. its my second car so i dont use it hardly, drove it twice in the month ive had it.
i really would like to do a 16v conversion but i an clueless with volvos and rwd setups lol. im a fwd pug boy :)
so like i said i really wanna do the conversion buy dont have the knowlegde. so any takers to be my guru?
oooo and id love to do it on bike carbs. :)

ha ha! farynuff. women, blessing and a curse :lol: I'm doing a valver swap soon, and plan on doing a walkthrough on it while I go. I'll let you know when I start. there'll be a thread on it anyway when I start. :D

Im going fuel injection on mine. It is simple to put the engine on carbs, you can use the 1.7 renix unit, just need a manifold made up. I'd recommend getting a haynes manual, 99p ebay job. Tonnes of stuff in there. Just read it every now and then, familiarise yourself with it. :wink:

What pug did you have? I've got a mate who's ITBing his 106 rallye at the mo, its very nice.

silly quistions whats a renix unit?
ive had many mate. built a 160hp 1.3 8v rallye stage car, 140hp 106 1.1 lol (had a 1.6 8v on bike carbs, lairy cam etc) built a 106 8v turbo, 106 xsi 16v conversion, supercharged ax, to name a few lol ive worked or french stuff since i was small.

cool stuff! My mates one is orgeous. Nice cars.

The renix is like a simple ecu. controls ignition etc, reads the flywheel speed etc.

ahh i get it now.
so if i was to bike carb a 16v im assuming i just need a fuel reg to drop the pressure down and run the standard pump in the tank?
