This is a thread to the 1.7 owners..
Can you post year some 0-100km/h (4500rpm in 3rd gear) and max speed of your cars?
On mine the best I had so far is 11.5sec for the 0-100 time and 5000rpm in 5th gear, wich I think it's something arround 190 in the speedo (I don't have speedo for some days because I'm changing it to a 220km/h 440 one...)

Yes!
My first idea was to change de whole instruments, but the 440 intrument are smaller, and in the 440 it's difficult to read.
I've already changed the speedometer and it's working, but with the 340 gauges... For now when i'm doing 150km/h it only marks arround 130
Next week i'll finish it.
I'd like the 440 rev counter, but I think it's not that easy to change...
The 440 instrument panel in the hole

How it is now... waiting for the 440 paper.

I looked into doing that swap too!! Thats strange with the speedo differances as mine dropped in and was the correct speed straight away!! I checked it against the driving comps digital speedo and it was spot on!!

Mine is correct to if I had the 440 (220km/h) paper... For now I'll have the 340 (200km/h).
When I change the paper it will be ok
Are you thincking in changing the rev counter to? Do you think is it possible?

I looked at doing it yeh but the gauge face is too small and so i didnt want to get making plates and facias up to fill the holes.
So now i'm happy with the 300 one for now anyway!!
As for the speedo i understand what you mean now, to get the 440 face/paper to fit mine i cut that small recess out of the instrument cluster to make the hole bigger.

I must admit I could do with a rev counter that goes over 7000rpm.
I'm sure I can hit the red line in 5th gear.

I did wonder Dai! The needle seemed to live around on that red 7000 rpm part, was quite a sight and sound! I think a 400 one would be possible, as Adam says with an adaptor plate, doubt it would be too hard, can be held in in many ways on the back, as long as the front is tidy, if you're worried about that, functionality first, then looks!

What about a 360 Smiths gauge console? They had rev gauges that went up to 8k RPM, don't know how you'd implement it into a VDO cluster though!

Right, back to the original topic, my car will hit the 6500 rpm rev limmit in fith, wich we think equates to a genuine 138/140 mph, I have done some timed 0-60 mph runs, the best being 5.89 seconds and 1/4 mile sprint in 14.4 seconds @ 97 mph....... and theres sooo much more to come
