There's something missing

Post by Cornholio » 22 Dec 2005 03:44 pm

Hello again,

Sorry that I've been posting so much today. I think this will be the last one.

Please tell me what I should have and why you think I need it.

I was thinking that it would be nice to keep an eye on the output of the alternator, but maybe you can think of something even more useful!

Got a choice of orig gauges there, either the shift light, or econ. I'm sure there are a few shift lights knocking round, but econs are generally hard to come by, might get lucky though! Did your Redline come with ambiant temp?

It came to me with it, I don't know if they came out of the factory like that though. I can't see one in the Redline brochure.

redlines are pretty ghetto spec to be honest , mine had no extra gauges, ive now got ambient temp and the econometer, plus its being upgraded with lecky windows and mirrors in the very near future

I've seen a car in the scrappers with an ambient temperature gauge on its own before - bit strange but looked original!

I suppose it depends entirely on what the customer specified at the time of order,

I mean who really wants a gauge that tells them how badly
(or uneconomically) they are driving ,

 far more important to know how cold it is outside

Yeah... well, price they were, I think I would have thought twice. In the '91 pricelist I got hold of, temp gauges were £180 + fitting, so I'm guessing econ was the same, just no longer available.

I've never seen a shift light before. Anyone get any pics? Is it just one light as you hit 5500rpm or summat, or is there a succession of lights?

It's just an image of a gearstick and an LED that tells you to change up to get better economy I think - rather than at high rpm. I have one.. somewhere!?

Economy? Pah, that's for old people ;)

Couldnt be that hard to rig it to come on at a higher rpm!

Help for this oldie please -- my 360 consumes 10% more fuel and petrol in UK is about 10% more expensive than when I had a 340 which was good on long journeys at 60mph (humph!)

On gauges can't see the point of an electrical ammeter thingy myself

Cheers mickt
