4 series question

Post by classicswede » 27 Feb 2006 09:38 pm

What pressure does the oil pressure gauge go up to on a 400 series. I have a sender but I need to know if I need to use a 3 or 5 bar gauge.

Cheers
Dai

You mean one like my old one:

Thats 70lbs/in^2, which is about 5 bar.

Hope that helps

We've noticed that not all of the 400 series gauges have the numbers printed on them (ie: some OP and boost do, some don't)....random!

cheers

I've no idea what the gauge was tbh. I've got a sender but there is no range marked on it. I'm hoping to use the sender with a 240 gauge - just would be nice to get the correct one first. Looks like I'll just have to try.

The worst thing that'll happen is it will read wrong, all the ones I've ever found have run on a 180ohm swing, so you can't make anything go bang ;)
