Mod Muppet!!!

Post by smudge340 » 12 Oct 2006 04:36 pm

Hi all. Thinking about installing new CD player/speakers/etc. but as im about as mechanical as a squril, i wonder if you guys could help me.
Basicly i would like to know what speakers would fit best on a budget. Also, if theres any places you would recomend that fits it all aswell (In the East Anglia/Suffolk region).
BTW, some have been asking pics of the beast, so here she is:

front speakers in the car aren't *aweful*, so i'd suggest just updating the headunit..

It depends on your reason for upgrading. The stock speakers on a 300 aren't big on bass and treble, but everything inbetween sounds ok..ish...

If you just want a bit more 'boom' and 'ting', I'd spend about £30 on a well known brand (JBL, Alpine...even Kenwood and Pioneer do some usable entry level stuff), and be happy. If you're looking for something a bit more hi-fi, it doesn't come cheap, sadly.

I'd upgrade the HU first - good advice from Hugh there.

cheers
