By eject the lighter are you meaning it's stuck in, after you've pressed it in and isn't heating up and ejecting, it might be that the fuse has gone, so it's not getting hot and then popping out. Check your owners handbook for the fuse number, I can't find mine at the moment, but from memory it doesn't share with much else.

If that's not what you meant then I'm assuming you mean the entire panel, not the actual removable lighter stick? If so it's a panel that's a push fit, which to remove carefully requires prising out with a thin tool, as flat bladed screw driver can work if you are very careful, otherwise it can mark both the lighter panel, and the frame around it that is part of the dash. There is then just a plug on the back of it onto the terminals.

Thanks very much :)

I thought about whole panel, since the stock lighter is no use anymore. OK, I'll see what can i do.
Thanks again :)

I've got a spare lighter and panel in my cellar somewhere, but postage costs to Serbia are astronomical, and no PayPal as far as I can tell!

BTW :
Do i need to change just the lighter ( pull out the old one, and replace it in the panel ), or the panel and the lighter ( in one )?

trabitom99:

Thanks for offering ( well i know here everything is @@ expensive ) but viva la buvljak ( free market :) )

I went to free market to buy the lighter, but they offered only the lighter without the panel, and they're VERY cheap. Around 5-10 euros, which isn't expensive at all. All variety of stuff is held there....

The panel itself merely has the metal sleeve to supply 12V to the removable lighter stick. There isn't much to go wrong with it, other than loose, or dirty connections on the terminals on the back.

I believe the fuse shares the ligher and central locking........ First I'd check the fuses and make sure they are all ok.

How does the spiral heat element look in the removable lighter stick? That is the most likely problem I'd imagine if it is worn out or corroded. If you can get a direct replacement, you won't need to touch the panel.

Hope that helps.

I do not have to worry about central locking, i do not have it ( i do it all manually :). We didn't need it cose he was always ( up to now ) garaged. )

Spiral element looks the same from most of the models I've seen. My won't eject ( well it's about time...18 years of serving and time for retirement ), and have some corrosion on it. I'll try to replace only the spiral element, if it works, i'll live it that way ( but i'll check the fuse, just in case ). If no....replacement..

The lighters on the free market is equipped with this metal sleeve, but i didn't know the shape and look of stock one, so i didn't buy it. Tomorrow I'll resemble the old lighter and take it to make a difference.

Thanks again :)
