Tuning Volvo 340 1.6 diesel

Hi! I'm looking for informations about tuning of engine 1,6 diesel, is it possible to make this engine more powerful?I can not find any info about it ,maybe some of you know something?greetings :)

Install a 1.9 turbodiesel from a Renault 19 in it. That's the easy way of doing it.
92bhp and 175Nm... should give you some decent performance.

but my engine has 110000 km and it s in great condition I have bought car from my neighbour who was the first owner and it is in briliant condition and I don't want to change the engine now maybe in 2-3years time:-)but thank you for hint :)

It's very difficult to get more power out a normally aspirated diesel. Good for long life and economy, but bad for performance!

Just save your money for a bit and buy a turbo engine

Indeed, a turbo is the only way to get a bit of power from a diesel.

It is possible to trickle a little bit of LPG into the air intake. It works very much so like Nitrous but much more affordable.

if you going to do an engine trnasplant, surely youd put a turbo petrol, not a turbo diesel!

Why not turbocharge that original engine?
