Too Long To warm Up

Post by hatch360 » 02 Oct 2007 11:45 pm

Warming up the car takes forever, is it something I have to put up with? or can it be fixed. The reason is due to the car drives rough and shakes at low speed when its not warmed up. :?: :?: :?: :!: :!: :!:

Your thermostat is responsible for blocking off coolant flow untill the engine is warmed up, mine jammed open a while back and i replaced it, getting a thermostat was easy enough, but no-one made a gasket IIRC so i had to cut one, easy enough job.

I usually let mine idle for a minute or two and then start driving, temperature needle starts moving up within a minute of that unless it's really cold.
