Post by grovesy » 13 Nov 2007 01:31 am

Hi guys recently bought a volvo 340 and im after fitting an aftermarket rev counter to it.

Does anybody have any good advice for me to fit it.

I know red goes to +..
Black goes to -

Where do the green and yellow wires go?

Any help would be great thank you :D

Any reason for fitting an after market one instead of an OEM one, which would probably be a bit easier? Or do you already have one and you just want one of those big white ones for the looks ;)

Maybe this post can help :) http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... ev+counter

Dependant on which way round red and yellow are it will probably be as follows, black - earth, yellow - constant +12v, red - +12v when ignition is on, and green should be scotch locked (or properly joined) to the coil negative signal. On a renix ignition which you probably have, this will be a grey wire coming out of the renix ignition box (located on the passenger side of engine bay for a rhd car) or if you have a oem rev counter already there should be a wire for this already inside the dash.

Hope this helps

Jason
