Fogs

Post by hatch360 » 02 Dec 2007 11:51 pm

Maybe I asked this before but how do you get the fogs and headlights working at the same time?

side lights?? ah maybe im slow but i migt just make it a bit clearer when you have the front fogs on they work when the parker lights are on (position 1) when you turn on the main beam (2) the fogs turn off and the main beam turns on. Its annoying bcause the 360 lights suck but the fogs are quite good.

in my 360 it has the after market kit wiring loom and you can put the side lights on position (1) as well as the fog lights, you can also have the head lights on position (2) with the fog lights.

This sounds like a regional thing. I can run fogs with the headlights in position 1. I'm pretty sure later 300's can too, in the UK.

Reminds me of a post a while back about Daytime running lights. http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... php?t=5182 That was a regional thing.

hy all!
yes, it's a regional thing,i had the same prob. with the headlights
with the igniton off the litghts were of on pos.0 on the switch, when the ignition was on,the main beam was on.( pos.0 ) on pos.1 ignition on or off, the parking lights were on, pos.2 the main beam was on with ignition, without ignition ,the parking lights were on.
the functioning of the head lights seemd weird and t anoying(especially if u don't have a strong batery) so i looked at my other 340 ,where the lighs where normal.pooled out the headlight switch and noticead that it has less terminals tha the one with weird behaviour, replaced it and now my lights ar running normaly:pos.0, all off(with or without ign.)1 parking lights,2 main beam.my car has also a separate switch for fogs,my advice is to wire the fogs separatly or to change the switch for th headlights
as for the weir functioning of the healights,it's made for nederlands so that whenever you are in the car and the engine is on,some lights are always on(parking lights or main beam),a good thing for everybody, except for the batery  .hope this helps

So it's all controlled from the headlight switch rather than the relay? I guess one of us has to send you a UK spec switch gear then

the switch controls the relays! it's simple as hell!
i have two 340 ,the spear one had a hedlight switch with less terminals that the one i told u about, with the weird headlight functioning! after changin the switch the lights were normal as i said above!
the electrical wiring on a car, any car,is build in a way witch alows the manufacturer to add-up optionals, without adding extra wires, for example the car i'm driving now did not have a rev counter but the other one did,so i've changed the dashboard and the rev counter works!same goes for almost every thing on the car, including lights.the instalation was made to work in a lot of diferend modes!
