where is the arial on these cars?

Post by Ricatron » 05 Dec 2007 12:57 pm

do you people have an external arial?
my 343 i think is too old to have an arial - well there must be a good reason for it not having one!

does anyone know if i took one from a scrapper that i could install it in some way? or can i make shift something to the body work?

im constantly listening to CD's and the radio would be nice.

hi
you caould put one in from a scrapper or you could buy one that sticks on the inside of the windscreen which you plug in to a live feed ,
halfords used to do them for about 10.99

I've wondered in the past whether you could fit an electric one on the rear wing - I'd quite like to lose my "strapped to the A pillar" type Mk2 aerial. It's only redeeming point is that you can pull it up while driving.

My early Mk2 (along with both of my parents' cars) has the aerial on the roof... but I wouldn't want to drill holes....

Jarlidge's suggestion is a good one!

Electrics on the rear wing generally get broken I've noticed, a decent roof mounted one is my favoured, but I think I agree with concensuss, I'd go for a window mounted one if it means you don't have to change the sillohette of the car!

My blue MK1 has it worked in in the...A-stijl we call it over here. The beam next to the frontscreen. Nice way of keeping your car original.
