Ehrr, rust untherneath the "new" paint...Allround the car. Would need a compleet respray if you want it really nice. And has 2 holes in the corners in the enginebay, 1 sill is not that good...and so on.
needs work, but is absolutely saveble!

It looks like that car has been in the wars a bit since that picture was taken.foggyjames wrote:That car doesn't look too bad in the pictures Aymat. What's wrong with the bodywork...bad paint? Rust?

Still, it seems a shame to break a car with an original R-Sport kit. Even the "normal" Mk1 343 D/GLS are rare enough, can't say I've ever seen one for sale before.
Much "lesser" 300s have been restored before, this one could be worth saving!

Seems to be in quite decent shape, no visible rust holes in the panels etc.. You should see most of the old Volvos in here..
And definately I wouldn't take out the engine and part the car.. I mean the engine it self doesn't have anything so special in the technical side for which I would part the whole car. But the car in whole is a much more special than the engine alone fitted in some other 300-series.
How much do they wan't for the car?

Remember most 300 R-Sports were just standard cars with dealer-fitted modifications. So if someone ordered a body colour bumper, they got a body colour bumper.
Even the 100 (?) German 100 R-Sports, which were sold as models in their own right seem to differ - the cars in the brochures seem to be based on a DLS whereas the cars which the journalists drove were GLS cars with chrome (unpainted) bumpers and the GLS badge in the grille.
Just to add to the confusion: Mk2 R-Sports were also sold with unpainted bumpers
