calibrating rev counters?

Post by cheshire190e » 29 May 2008 11:44 pm

i recently purchased a rev counter from on here for my 340. the revs are far lower than the engine though :(

the needle is below 0 when idling. do these have to be calibrated or is it just broken? cheers

yeh i fitted it my self. it does have the correct wires. the rev counter works its just lower than it should be. the needle still moves with the revs just only about 70% of actual speed.

when i installed it there were only 3 of the tiny pins and one had snapped off. could this be the reason it doesnt read right

Nope it only uses 3 take the front cover of the cluster off and make sure the rev counter starts at 0 with no power to the gauges
you can move the needle by hand.
