16v flywheel and tdc sensor

do i need to use the 1.7 flywheel and crank sensor to get it sparking? also, which starter?

are you going to run it on carbs or injction?

the demsions of the fly wheels are the same inc. trigger patern etc. just the renault 16v flywheel is much lighter.
as for the starter you can use the R19/clio one or the volvo 1.7 or 1.7 clios. I am using one from a later clio they are the same but the later ones have a smaller body.

I believe the crank sensors are also the same.

cant use the renault starter!

thats what adam told me mine didnt work on it.

well becides the fact my starter was knacked it was working fine, no reason why it wouldn't they are even listed in many parts catalogues as using the same starters.

I think to be honest kaos that starter you were using was tired and on a rebuilt engine just couldnt take tha hack.

kaos, I can safely say that the renault one works great after seeing marks car last weekend.

ill prob be using carbs because a mate has zx9r ones for free, so i guess the best job would be to use the 16v flywheel and starter and just leave the pickup sensor on the bell housing? thanks folks

You will want the ignition module from the 16v though.

why is that? and how would i get vacume advance if i do/

With renix units the ignition maps are built into them, they dont need vacuum advance, the 16v doesnt have one.
