i will be doing an engine change at a later date but would a bit more power out of the 1.7 for the time being
i have put a remus back box on it which i had in my garage lying around off another car and have adapted it to fit

i have got another exhaust on it which was off a different car but i have adapted it to fitgerm wrote:Wieght loss is the best thing to do..in theory theres quite alot you can do to the 1.7... injection, 480es cam ,4 branch manifold etc the gains are small tbh for the cost but i rekon 110-120hp is possible with 480 bits better flowing zorst and cold air flow.
best bet is to keep wieght down and make sure the carb is tuned up in tip top condition! maybe a replacement k&n filter just keep a cold air feed or you will loose power!(again the carb may need adjustment for the k&n as they are quite fussy)
ohh and a good service!
oh ok so would i have to replace the cast manifold or is it something that can just be removed?Chris_C wrote:Exhaust, not backbox. The restriction is mainly is the cast manifold further up, but that won't be whats slowing down a stock car. Germs right, make everything work before you play, tuning is a difficult game at the best of times, pretty much impossible if everything is leaking like a sieve before hand.
The B18KP is a high power version of the B172 in 400s, and uses the same cam as a B18F, and the same carb as a B172 but with different jettings.
