is the volvo 340 driven by propshaft or belts cause i no some of the old volvos are driven but belt

It can be either way, if car is variomatic (automatic), then there are belts, but if it is 4 or 5 speed, then there is propshaft, however if engine is 2ltr then there are torquetube and not so traditional propshaft that runs inside of that torque tube.
So few choices, but pretty easy to know which one it will be, hope this helps

Also note that even the variomatic has a propshaft, because the (belt-driven) gearbox is in the back of the car.

oh thats ok im about to buy a 1.7 340 just woundered cause them belt at expensive the car need a clutch book time in 2.00 hours so i sholudnt be that bad. on the home page it says the is a haynes manal in the french side but i cant find in anyway could anyone direct me

In this forum, there is technical section, there you can find green books which are really great, not same as haynes, but they have more information.
