Rubbing strip fitment?

How is the rubbing strip on the drivers door fitted on (wide thick type). I bought a replacement door that came with the wide strip and want to change it back to the narrow style, are they fitted with the double sided tape like the narrow ones or is there any brackets behind them?

Thanks,

No brackets, just VERY stick stuff around all four edges of the strip

I used welding wire, wrapped around 2 screwdrivers, used as "T handles"
With sawing action, easy job!

If you can stick the new rubbing strips back on properly, and they stay on, then you let me know how you did it please

I took off rubbing strips from my car at the co-driver's side because there was some rust beneath the larger strips. I fitted them after the repairs with double-sided 3M tape which is heated first with heat gun before jointing the parts. I also used some vehicle body adhesive at the top and bottom of the strip. I did that in summer 2004 and strips haven't fall off. :P
