Afternoon all,

Does anybody have a current source of top and bottom rad hoses for an '88' B14 ???

Various places list them but in the end can't supply.

Mac.

Hello mac,

B14 radiator hoses:
Top:
3290771 -609999 (<=MY 1982)
3285477-0 710000-120999 (MY1983 - <=MY1985)
3207962-6 121000- (MY1986-)

Bottom:
3290770 -609999 (<=MY 1982)
3207963-4 (32986325) 710000- (MY1983-)

none of my usual online parts stores have the MkIII top hose in their lists, but one has the lower one, albeit listed as "price on application". If it's any help, these part numbers are:

TRISCAN
8630 3238500
lower, from 121000

Gates
VFII 33
lower, from 121000

If it's any use, the "early type" lower hoses (<=MY 1982) supplied by Gates also fit other cars - maybe it's worth finding out what the difference is between the <=MY 1982 and the MY1983- versions?

Tom

Hm, on doing a bit of searching, I have come up with some places that stock "Triscan 8630 3238500" and "Gates VFII 33".

http://www.ls-autoparts.com/Artikel.asp ... %203238500

Fits Allegros, and early Skodas too :shock:

The hoses probably lasted longer than the All-aggros, :lol:

Mac, I've had no luck whatso ever with hoses, hence my random bits made up out of silicon and joiners. Will be interesting to see if your unearthing finds anything!

Stop press,

Still digging at hoses,

Top hose, 3207962, B14 '86' on ----- located "limited stock" (one only) at Euro Car Parts - ordered it and a genuine Volvo part arrived --- ah ha methinks - it might be worth trying the dealer (yesterday) ----- "we might be able to get one" ----- ordered three ---- they arrived this morning ---- I now have four "in stock". Cost x1 from Euro £14.43 Cost from Volvo £39.33 for three.

Bottom hose - still no luck but thanks to Toms info I'm looking at alternative used for the same hose (a Gates VFII 33) I'll report back when I have solid info..

Gates' website is interesting too ... They have an "online catalogue":

Click on "english" and then on this picture:

for the hoses.

Good news that those hoses were available from Volvo! Was that just dealer stock still lying around or do they still "officially" sell them?

Cheers

Tom

Gates I've used to random bits when there hasn't been the required silicon in stock (my local hose shop stocks both silicon (can't remember the brand and Gates stock)

Tis very good quality I've found.

Their V300 range of curved hoses is fairly random though. Top hoses only for MkI and MkII B14s for example, and for 360s only cars with air conditioning :-)

That "Vulco-Flex" stuff looks fairly universal though.

Hi Tom,

The dealer I used is very new and didn't take over any stock from the previous outlet so I guess they must be truly still available (at present)

It will just be a case of how many hoses Volvo still have in stock. Once that supply has gone there will be no more.

You're spot on Dai - that's why I bought 4.

Oh! by the way I know you do cap/leads etc. for the B172 - do you do for the B14 as well.

Mac.

I do 1.4 leads but only for the early coil cars not renix. I asume the main leads are the same with just the king lead needed for later renix cars. If I knew how long it is I could try and do something.
